About last week - Finding the balance between determination and obsession.
Finding the balance between determination and obsession is a hard one, hey? Especially in small businesses when you want something to succeed so badly.
Thinking about success and what you might contemplate doing to get success v's maintaining the original intention of why you started what you started means it is imperative to say true to your core beliefs.
Distraction, hesitation, and lack of planning can be easy pitfalls to fall into. Sometimes it feels like it will never come together and it’s so easy to try and spread yourself to thin. Sentences start forming like: “maybe I should try “this” or maybe I should do “this”…” You can end up “shoulding” all over yourself.
Take me for example, I have such a huge destination for what Soul Care will be, sometimes it feels so big that it almost overwhelms me. The truth of the matter is that Soul Care was a vision that came from God. Yep, you heard it, from God. I was sent a very clear picture of who and how I was to be of service and which people I would assist. I’m sure most of you can declare that you’ve also found your small business idea from something bigger than yourself.
Soul Care would be multi streamed with in-person and online offerings and products to sell, and then he threw in “oh and I also want you to tell your story and help other families - you will write a book” What the what now… I will?!
I was asked to journey within and dig deep. I was told I would need stamina and I would be tested.
I have felt tested and even if I’m honest - sometimes burdened with this massive undertaking. I have also felt immense pride and already met so many incredible people.
I know I help others through our wellbeing workshops and through my life coaching sessions. I see the benefit, and as I grow and expand with sincerity and a model of structure, I get glimpse of it all coming together, like a big jigsaw puzzle.
The obsession has changed to determination as I lean into my purpose and less into instant results. I find balance by aligning with other professionals that fill the gaps that I need support it. I get really clear on the order of process and outsource what I cannot conquer on my own.
So if you need a peak talk - borrow my motto:
“Be patient, take your time, be open to pivot. Research, but don't compare. No one does it like you do.”
Go for it - You'll get there 🥰
Much love Gayle.
